White Water

About a week ago we got some serious South winds that turned the Gulf into a lot of white water.

Neil, Fred, and Joe all joined us for a great, but unforgiving day. Travis must have caught 100 waves even in the less than clean conditions. He was like a kid in the candy store. I went out, but stayed on the inside where I found lots of fun to be had. It felt like I was in a video game with waves coming at me from every direction. I especially enjoyed banking off of the waves that were coming back from the shoreline. There were also places where waves from several directions would converge and smash together as they shot up like a geyser. Every time I got caught in one of those, I “lost a life.” We all had a blast, even though one of us left the beach with a munched kite. But I did hear Joe say, “It was worth it.”
